Frequently Asked Questions
Thinking about creating your Greek fraternity or sorority yearbook with Picaboo? Here are answers to the questions we hear most from teachers, staff, and yearbook volunteers. Don't see what you're looking for? Reach out to one of our yearbook specialists for a personalized answer.
1. What is the turnaround time for a Greek fraternity or sorority yearbook? Picaboo Yearbooks guarantees delivery within 15 business days of order submission — under 3 weeks from start to finish. This applies to standard orders; books with special cover treatments may take slightly longer. There are no forced deadlines, so your chapter sets the pace until final submission.
2. Is there a minimum order for Greek yearbooks? No. Picaboo Yearbooks has no minimum order requirement. Whether your chapter has 10 members or 300, you can order exactly what you need with zero financial risk.
3. What happens if we need additional books after our initial order? No problem. Chapters can reorder additional books after the initial print run if more members decide to purchase later. There is no minimum reorder quantity.
4. How much does it cost to print a Greek life yearbook? A 20-page softcover book starts at $9.49 per book, with pricing scaling based on page count, cover type, and finish. Because every chapter's book is different, a sales professional builds a free, customized proposal based on your specific needs and quantity.
5. Do you offer discounts or free shipping for large orders? Yes. Orders of 50 or more books qualify for free shipping to one location within the continental US. Smaller orders can discuss shipping options directly with a sales representative.
6. Why would a chapter want its own yearbook if the school already publishes one? The campus yearbook covers the university as a whole, but it can't capture everything your chapter experiences: formals, philanthropy events, bid day, retreats, and everyday brotherhood or sisterhood. A chapter-specific book lets you tell that fuller story in depth.
7. Can a Greek yearbook work as a fundraiser? Yes. Set up your yearbook for sale in your own online store and set your own price to raise funds for the chapter, and you keep the profit you build into the price.
8. Can we sell ads, and how much revenue does the chapter keep? Yes. Chapters can set their own ad sizes and pricing, and members, alumni, or local businesses can purchase and design their own ads directly through the online store. The chapter keeps 90% of all ad revenue generated.
9. Can members order their own copy online? Yes. Picaboo provides a customizable, mobile-friendly online store where members can purchase directly and track sales. Orders are processed through the chapter's own sales page, so there's no need to collect cash or checks.
10. What software do we use to design the book, and do we need experience? Chapters use Creator Studio™, Picaboo's free online design platform with built-in templates and drag-and-drop tools, work with Picaboo's design team on a custom build, or upload a print-ready PDF from outside software. No prior yearbook experience is required, and support is available for hands-on help.
11. Are there templates made for Greek yearbooks? Yes. Creator Studio™ includes professionally designed templates, page layouts, backgrounds, fonts, and artwork, plus pre-made pages covering the year's events, trends, entertainment, and news that are fully customizable to your chapter.
12. Can we customize every page of our chapter's yearbook? Absolutely. Every page can be fully customized with your chapter's photos, colors, fonts, letters, and layouts. Officers or a yearbook committee can use templates as a starting point or design every page from scratch.
13. Is there a deadline we have to meet during the school year? No fixed deadlines are imposed during the year, aside from the delivery date your chapter sets for itself. This gives officers and volunteers flexibility to work at their own pace right up until final submission for printing.
14. Can multiple officers or members work on the book at the same time? Yes. Creator Studio™ is cloud-based, allowing multiple authorized users to collaborate simultaneously from different computers or locations, even without dedicated work time together. This makes it easy to divide sections like formals, philanthropy, and new member classes among different contributors.
15. Can we collect photos from members, alumni, and events throughout the year? Yes. Picaboo Yearbooks allows chapters to collect photos digitally from members and alumni, making it easy to gather images from formals, philanthropy events, bid day, retreats, and everyday chapter life.
16. Can each member personalize their own copy? Yes. Every book includes four free personalized pages per member, plus the option to add Name Stamping, which foil stamps the member's name on the lower right corner of the cover for a lifelong keepsake.
17. What cover and size options are available for Greek yearbooks? Greek yearbooks come in 8.5×11 or 9×12 sizes, with hardcover and softcover ordering, and square back spines. Standard 100# paper is used on all books, with PUR, Smyth, or saddle-stitched binding, and a choice of matte or gloss finish.
18. Are Greek yearbooks printed in full color? Yes. Every Picaboo Greek yearbook is professionally printed in full color throughout using high-quality printing processes that produce vibrant images and sharp text.
19. What image quality is recommended for printing? For the best print quality, photos should be high-resolution and as close to the original image as possible. Creator Studio™ helps identify low-resolution images before printing to help prevent blurry or pixelated photos.
20. Can we include QR codes or videos in our chapter's book? Yes. Chapters can add QR codes to printed pages that link to videos, photo galleries, or other online content, creating an interactive keepsake beyond the printed page.
21. Can we offer a digital version in addition to print? Yes. Picaboo lets chapters offer a digital copy viewable on any tablet or smartphone alongside the printed book, so members and alumni can revisit the book from anywhere.
22. Does Picaboo Yearbooks provide customer support during production? Yes. Every chapter can contact a dedicated Yearbook Support Specialist for advice or answers throughout the design and ordering process, from setup to proofing and final submission.
23. What if we make a mistake after submitting our book? Once a book has entered production, changes typically cannot be made. It's worth reviewing your pages carefully before final submission, and support is available if you have questions along the way.
24. Is this only for individual chapters, or can it work for a whole Greek council? Both. Individual fraternities and sororities commonly build their own chapter book, and multi-chapter councils or Greek life offices can also use Picaboo to create a broader Greek life yearbook covering the full community.
