Frequently Asked Questions
Thinking about creating your dance or cheer yearbook with Picaboo? Here are answers to the questions we hear most from teachers, staff, and yearbook volunteers. Don't see what you're looking for? Reach out to one of our yearbook specialists for a personalized answer.
1. What is the turnaround time for a dance and cheer yearbook? Picaboo Yearbooks guarantees delivery within 15 business days of order submission — under 3 weeks from start to finish. This applies to standard orders; books with special cover treatments may take slightly longer. There are no forced deadlines, so your team or studio sets the pace until final submission.
2. Is there a minimum order for dance and cheer yearbooks? No. Picaboo Yearbooks has no minimum order requirement. Whether your squad or studio has 15 members or 150, you can order exactly what you need with zero financial risk.
3. What happens if we need additional books after our initial order? No problem. Teams and studios can reorder additional books after the initial print run if more members or families decide to purchase later. There is no minimum reorder quantity.
4. How much does it cost to print a dance or cheer yearbook? Cost depends on book size (8.5×11 or 9×12), page count, cover type, and finish. Picaboo Yearbooks doesn't publish flat pricing because every book is different; instead, a sales professional builds a free, customized proposal based on your team's specific needs and quantity.
5. Do you offer discounts or free shipping for large orders? Yes. Orders of 50 or more books qualify for free shipping to one location within the continental US. Smaller orders can discuss shipping options directly with a sales representative.
6. Can a dance or cheer yearbook work as a fundraiser? Yes. Dance and cheer books make great fundraisers. Team members visit the online storefront to add their own personalized pages and purchase the book, and the additional income is sent directly to your captains or coaches to use however the team needs.
7. How does the fundraiser process work? First, you open an account and create your Picaboo book. Once it's built, you set the price and place it on an online storefront. Then you invite your squad or studio to visit the store, add their own personalized pages, and purchase, and the extra income comes straight to your team.
8. Can team members order their own books online? Yes. Picaboo provides a free online storefront where dancers, cheerleaders, and families can purchase directly. Orders are processed through the team's custom sales page, making it easy to manage sales without collecting cash or checks.
9. Can we sell ads, and how much revenue does the team keep? Yes. Teams can set their own ad sizes and pricing, and parents or local businesses can purchase and design their own ads directly through the online store. The team keeps the majority of ad revenue generated, with no transaction fees deducted from sales.
10. What software do we use to design the yearbook, and do we need experience? Teams use Creator Studio™, Picaboo's free online design platform with built-in templates and drag-and-drop tools, work with Picaboo's design team on a custom build, or upload a print-ready PDF from outside software. No prior yearbook experience is required, every group is paired with a dedicated account manager for hands-on support.
11. Are there templates and artwork made for dance and cheer books? Yes. Creator Studio™ includes professionally designed templates, page layouts, backgrounds, fonts, and artwork made specifically for dance and cheer programs, giving your book a polished, on-brand look.
12. Can we customize every page of our dance or cheer yearbook? Absolutely. Every page can be fully customized with your team's photos, colors, fonts, graphics, and layouts. Coaches and captains can use templates as a starting point or design every page from scratch.
13. Is there a deadline we have to meet during the season? No fixed deadlines are imposed during the year, aside from the delivery date your team sets for itself. This gives coaches, captains, and parent volunteers flexibility to work at their own pace right up until final submission for printing.
14. Can multiple coaches, captains, or parent volunteers work on the book at the same time? Yes. Creator Studio™ is cloud-based, allowing multiple authorized users to collaborate on the yearbook simultaneously from different computers. This makes it easy to divide sections like competitions, routines, and events among different volunteers.
15. Can we collect photos from team members, parents, and coaches? Yes. Picaboo Yearbooks allows teams to collect photos digitally from members, parents, and coaches, making it easy to gather images from competitions, performances, practices, and team events throughout the season.
16. Can each dancer or cheerleader personalize their own copy? Yes. Each team member can customize the pages of their own book, plus add Name Stamping, which foil stamps the member's name on the lower right corner of the cover, for a truly personalized keepsake.
17. What cover and size options are available for dance and cheer books? Dance and cheer yearbooks come in 8.5×11 or 9×12 sizes, with hardcover and softcover ordering, and square back spines. Standard 100# paper is used on all books, with PUR, Smyth, or saddle-stitched binding, and a choice of matte or gloss finish.
18. Are dance and cheer yearbooks printed in full color? Yes. Every Picaboo dance and cheer book is professionally printed in full color throughout using high-quality printing processes that produce vibrant images and sharp text.
19. What image quality is recommended for printing? For the best print quality, photos should be high-resolution and as close to the original image as possible. Creator Studio™ helps identify low-resolution images before printing to help prevent blurry or pixelated photos.
20. Can we include QR codes or videos of our routines? Yes. You can add QR codes to printed pages that link directly to videos of your team's favorite jumps, stunts, tumbles, and routines, creating an interactive keepsake beyond the printed page.
21. Can we offer a digital book in addition to print? Yes. Picaboo lets teams offer a digital version viewable on any tablet or smartphone alongside the printed book. Teams set their own price for the digital copy and keep a share of that revenue.
22. Does Picaboo Yearbooks provide customer support during production? Yes. Every team works with a dedicated account manager who provides guidance throughout the entire process, from setup and design questions to proofing and final submission.
23. What if we make a mistake after submitting our book? Once a book has entered production, changes typically cannot be made. Your dedicated account manager will help you review your project before submission to minimize errors and ensure everything is ready for print.
24. Is this just for competitive teams, or can studios and rec programs use it too? Any group works, competitive squads, school teams, studios, and rec-level programs alike. Anyone looking to capture a season of practices, performances, and competitions can build a book that fits their group.
