Ready to Get Started?
You have finally learned how to use the Picaboo Yearbook Flash software (you are practically a “pro”!) and now we are switching to HTML5, calling it Picaboo Yearbooks Creator Studio, and messing with your mojo? Take a deep breath. I promise the PYB team will walk you through this transition (over the next several blog posts) and help you to get up and running in no time!
What you need to know:
Why the change? Here is the short version. Using HTML5 will allow you to create books faster (without needing a plug-in or having to install a player, as needed with Adobe Flash). HTML5 is capable of working directly from any browser. This means much less hassle with compatibility issues. In addition, Adobe Flash has not been previously supported by iOS and that means a Flash file has not been able to run on an iOS device such as iPad or iPhone. HTML5 is capable of running on any computer as well as on mobile devices such as iPhones, Android devices, iPad, tablets, and smartphones. There are many other good reasons for making the switch—but, trust us, the bottom line is that the HTML5 platform is a faster, better performer when it comes to making your yearbook, club book, team sports book or lit magazine!
As we are going through this transition process, throughout the year we will be adding exciting, new features each month! During this time, we will be making BOTH the current software (Flash) and the new software (HTML5) available for our schools to use. In addition, we will be blogging, vlogging and, our Client Support Specialists (CSS) will be “logging” (many hours) to help answer any questions and make this a straightforward process.
Buckle your seatbelts!
